DC Fanatic: [Bruce] you went to the Combine. Which teams were interested in you? Were there any teams that talked to you about playing in a 4-3 or was it mostly 3-4 teams?
Bruce Irvin: I talked to a couple of teams. The Eagles, they ran a 4-3. The Lions, they ran a 4-3, but I had 22 informal meetings at the Combine. It was mostly 3-4 teams. I met with Dallas, Rob Ryan... Jason Garrett. I met with those guys. It was mostly 3-4 teams, to be honest with you.
Rafael Vela: Bruce, what do you see as your best pro position?
Bruce Irvin: It doesn't matter to me. I feel like, to be honest with you, I've never been taught how to pass rush. The last two years, the 23 sacks that I got, it was all natural ability. Not to knock my coaches, but they emphasized stopping the run, and that's what we did. We never did any pass rushing drills. I feel like, with the proper coaching and the right people around me I feel like I can be a very productive player in this league.
You can hear the entire interview Monday night on DCFantatic's blog radio show. Tune in to hear Bruce and Cowboys talk. I'll also post the full transcript here Tuesday morning.
